Decree of the Sacred Council of the Sovereign Order of St John of Jerusalem in St Petersburg on 11/23 May 1801

Le sacré Conseil de l'Ordre souverain de St. Jean de Jérusalem assemblé dans le palais du dit Ordre le 11/23 Mai de cette année, a delibéré sur une note présentée par Monsieur le colonel DE SULTZER, par laquelle il expose que S. A. S. Electorale de Bavière désire que la commanderie d'Amberg, annexée à la mense prieurale de Bavière, soit échangée contre celle d'Erding. Considérant que le venerable Bailli DE FLASHLANDEN, pourvû par la nomination magistrale de la commanderie d'Erding, consent a cette permutation; la dite commanderie se trouvant vacante par le decès du commandeur Baron de Weichs; voulant d'ailleurs donner une marque de déférence à S. A. S. Electorale, le Lieutenant du Magistère et le sacré Conseil, d'une voix unanime, ont décrété que la commanderie d'Erding serait désormais annexée au Grand-Prieuré de Bavière, au lieu de celle d'Amberg, et que S.A.S. le Prince Grand-Prieur de Bavière en sera pourvû aux mêmes conditions qui avaient été accordées au vénérable Bailli DE FLASHLANDEN.

The Sacred Council of the Sovereign Order of St John of Jerusalem assembled in the palace of the said Order on 11/23 May of that year, has deliberated on the note presented by Monsieur Colonel DE SULTZER by which he revealed that H.S.H. (His Serene Highness) the Elector of Bavaria wanted that the Commandery of Amberg, annexed to the Priory of Bavaria, should be exchanged with that of Erding. Considering that the venerable Bailliff DE FLACHSLANDEN, endowed with the magisterial nomination of the commandery of Erding, agrees to the this exchange; the said commandery being vacant following the decease of Commander Baron de Weichs; wanting to show deference to H.S.H. the Elector, the Lieutenant of the Magistracy and the sacred Council, have decreed unanimously that the commandery of Erding should be annexed henceforth to the Grand Priory of Bavaria, in place of Amberg, and H.S.H. the Prince Grand Prior of Bavaria be provided with the same conditions that had been accorded to the venerable Bailliff DE FLACHSLANDEN.
